The CNRS journal highlights the work of Robert Pascal, a chemist in the ASTRO team, who has proposed a new minimalist theoretical model of living processes.
It’s a system that lives, reproduces, undergoes natural selection and can die. A chemist from the Physics of Ionic and Molecular Interactions laboratory has proposed a scheme in which a molecule, in an energy-fed system, behaves like “the living world”. Published in Chemistry – A European Journal, this work offers a new perspective on the appearance of life.
