I obtained my Ph.D. in Physics and Material Sciences in 2005 at the Université de Provence in Marseille, France. From 2005 to 2006, I have been hired as assistant professor at the Université de Provence. In 2006, I joined the group of Professor Antoine Kahn at Princeton University, Princeton, USA, as postdoctoral fellow until 2008. Since the end of 2008, I am full associate professor at Aix-Marseille Université, in the laboratory Physique des Interactions Ioniques et Moléculaires

Research activities

My research activities are related to surface and material sciences.

I am mainly interested in a fundamental understanding of detailed mechanisms occurring at surfaces and interfaces of organic/inorganic hybrid system, surface-covalent organic framework and low-dimensional nano-architectures based on silicon and germanium (Xene).

My work relies on obtaining information, at the atomic/molecular level, of the structural, vibrational and electronic properties of the systems, together with their on-surface reactivity.

Experimental set-up and diagnostics

I use an experimental set-up (NAUTILUS) dedicated to surface and material sciences and satisfying to ultra-high vacuum conditions (10-10 mbar) to prevent from atmospheric contamination and prepare high quality samples.

The main diagnostics available on NAUTILUS are :

  • Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM)
  • Low-Energy Electrons Diffraction (LEED)
  • High-Resolution Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (HREELS)
  • Angular-Resolved PhotoEmission Spectroscopy (ARPES)

I regularly performed experiments on synchrotrons facilities to complete our lab’s measurements and where I mostly used:

  • High-Resolution Angular-Resolved PhotoEmission Spectroscopy (HR-ARPES)
  • Near-Edge X-rays Absorption Fine Structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopy
  • PhotoElectron Diffraction (PED)

Teaching duties

I am teaching fundamental and experimental Physics at both at Bachelor and Master levels. I am mainly involve in the Polytech’ engineering school as well as the master “Fundamental Physics” of AMU.
