abstract :
I will present the main concepts, techniques and applications of “Shortcuts to adiabaticity”. These are protocols to speed up slow adiabatic processes so that the final results obtained by slow changes of the control parameters are found in much shorter times. There are many systems where they can be applied, among them, trapped ions, internal levels, condensates, and, beyond quantum mechanics, optical waveguides or mechanical systems (e.g. a crane).
