Le Nautilus

The Nautilus is an experimental setup composed of four
interconnected ultra-high vacuum (UHV) chambers.

Two chambers are equipped with surface analysis tools :
- Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED)
- High Resolution Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (HREELS)
- Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM)

One chamber is designed to prepare and to modify samples with :
- Ion gun
- Hydrogen atom source based on the hot capillary design
- Hydrogen/Nitrogen atom source based on a neutralized micro-wave plasma
- Temperature controlled sample manipulator (300 K - 2000 K) with
voltage bias control
- Load-lock system

One chamber is dedicated to the deposition of organic thin films on well
characterized surfaces
