Hydrogen interactions with 2D and bulk materials

abstract :
In this presentation, I will present results obtained in the Plasma Surface group of the PIIM laboratory, focusing on systems which are of interests for microelectronics and fusion technologies. Through several case systems, the hydrogenation of graphene on various substrates and the interaction of deuterium with bulk tungsten, I will give an overview of spectroscopic and kinetic techniques I have used or developed at the Plasma Surface group. Furthermore, I will show how the collaboration with the IRFM/CEA helped us to analyze our results. Finally, I will describe the ongoing developments of multiple-beams techniques that should open the possibility to tackle new fields of research such as the fundamentals of heterogeneous catalysis.
