Abstract
Ion Traps, thanks to their simplicity and excellent properties, are being
used in many scientific experiments. Short introduction to the principles
of operation of a cryogenic (<4 K) linear Paul type trap (22 pole rf trap)
will be outlined together with examples of its application to ion-molecule
reaction studies, with emphasis on associative detachment of anions. In
the remaining time, novel action spectroscopy schemes for rotational/
ro-vibrational studies are going to be presented.
